Today, we boarded the USS Arlington to join United Service Organizations (USO) to put together over 300 USO care packs for Marines and Sailors in celebration of the 247th Marine Corps Birthday. Each USO Care Package is filled with items to help express America’s gratitude to our Armed Forces while strengthening their connections to family, home, and country.

Volunteers set up several assembly lines inside the USS Arlington and packed pull-string bags with water bottles, cookies, postcards and other small goodies. Marines and Sailors were onboard to receive each USO care pack and met with the volunteers that filled them.

Since 2003, the Operation USO Care Package program has distributed more than two million care packages to US service members deployed Afghanistan, Iraq, and other overseas locations.
