Roughly 11% of the adult homeless population are veterans, with many of them being younger than the overall veteran population.  Backpacks for Life is a non-profit organization providing necessary supplies for homeless and at-risk veterans.  AmeriVet staff and The Mission Continues’ Newark platoon joined forces to help pack book bags, prepare new supply kits and helped reorganize the storage unit for Backpacks for Life upcoming events to help them continue their support for the homeless veteran population.
