In Chicago, high school counselors, on average, are assigned to 444 students to support throughout their four years. Often, this leaves many students without the proper support needed to prepare for post-high school life.  iMentor is a non-profit organization that pairs students from under-served communities with mentors to address this problem. Students paired with a mentor had a higher graduation rate and a concrete post-high school plan.

AmeriVet Securities, in partnership with Brighthouse Financial Foundation, supported Chicago iMentor’s Bears vs. Packers recruitment event on Sunday, October 17^th. Over 30 people in attendance wanted to learn how they can be a mentor to a high school student attending a Chicago Public School (CPS).  At the end of the event, over 10 people had signed up to be a mentor.
