#dimegivesback and Heart 9/11 Beautification Project

January 25, 2019

Staff from AmeriVet Securities participated in a beautification project with Dime Bank and Heart 9/11. Dime bank coordinated their quarterly community outreach project (#dimegivesback) to re-paint the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2348 hall in Queens, NY. They coordinated this through Heart 9/11, which is a team of first responders (FDNY, NYPD, PAPD, and the NYC building trades) who bonded in the aftermath of September 11th to honor the sacrifices of colleagues and family members lost during the attacks. The VFW Post 2348, also named the Rocco Moretto post after Army World War II veteran Rocco Moretto, serves numerous functions within the local community. Whether they provide a social space for veteran’s organizations or provide a low-cost event hall to the community, they are ran solely on veteran volunteers and appreciate the support of any organizations who can donate their time and resources to help maintain the property.
