Alexander Barney
Alex Barney is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He served for six years as a Ground Radio Repairman, specializing in tactical communications.
During his tenure in the military, he was stationed on Camp Lejeune in North Carolina and served in 2d Tank Bn, 2d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 2d Bn 8th Marine Regiment, Battalion Landing Team 3/6 and Ground Combat Element Integrated Task Force.
In addition, has deployed to Jordan, Djibouti and Oman.
After leaving the military, Mr. Barney was awarded a full tuition scholarship to the University of Virginia from the Posse Foundation.
He is currently going into his third year and is majoring in Global Studies, with a focus on The Middle East and South Asia.
In his free time, he enjoys skiing and other outdoor activities.
