Daniel Lopez joins AmeriVet this summer as an intern for the Debt Capital Markets team.

Mr. Lopez is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving from from 2011 – 2016.

During his time in the military, he was a crew master on the KC-130J and participated in several humanitarian aid missions, including Operation Damayan in 2014, which was part of the broader U.S. Government effort to support the Philippines government’s request for humanitarian assistance. In addition, he supported Nepal after the Gorkha Earthquake in 2015, which killed approximately 9,000 and injured 22,000.

After leaving the military, Mr. Lopez was awarded a full-tuition leadership scholarship to the University of Chicago and is going into his second year at the institution.

He is majoring in economics and minoring in data science and East Asian language and civilization. In addition, Mr. Lopez is involved in multiple extracurricular organizations on campus, including Student Veterans of America: Veterans Scholar League and Oeconomica, a program that places an emphasis on reading advanced economics.

In his free time, Mr. Lopez enjoys nature hikes, photography, playing guitar and Japanese cuisine.
