Elton served in the US Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) and US Army Reserve (USAR) for a total of 37 years. Elton became a disabled veteran due to an injury suffered while parachuting in 1988 that required surgery.

AmeriVet Securities, Inc., was started by incorporating the company on August 6, 1993. The company was started on a borrowed $1,150 (the cost to incorporate) and is now a $6 million company.

“The lack of working capital was the biggest challenge to getting AmeriVet Securities, Inc., started but over time we have learned that it all about persistence and networking,” said Johnson.

AmeriVet Securities, Inc., has been in business for more than 25 years. It is the second oldest Service-Disabled Veteran Owned broker-dealer in existence. AmeriVet Securities, Inc., was the first FINRA member to operate under war time conditions since World War II. AmeriVet is the most honored SDVOB broker-dealer in the U.S. securities industry having won numerous awards for its business success.
