Wear Blue: Run to Remember Piestewa Challenge

March 23, 2021

In remembrance of #womenshistorymonth, our #womenveterans participated in the wear blue: run to remember Piestewa Challenge, to honor the 174 women who have given their lives in service to our country. The challenge is named in honor of SPC Lori Piestewa, who was the first American Indian (Hopi tribe) service member killed in combat on foreign soil, and the first female service member killed in Iraq. Today, women represent 16% Americans in uniform. You can see Mercedes’ story at 7 minute mark.
