Elton Johnson, Jr., President of Amerivet Securities, Inc., has been a stockbroker since 1977. He currently holds the following FINRA/NFA licenses: Series 3, 4, 7, 24, 27, 30, 53, 55, 63, 65, 79 and 99. He has owned and operated Amerivet Securities, Inc., since the company became a member of the Self Regulatory Organization (“SRO”) now known as the FINRA in 1994. Prior to owning his own stock brokerage company, he worked for several regional brokerage houses including Security Pacific Brokers and Kennedy, Cabot.
Elton Johnson, Jr., is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (1976-the same class as Rudy of movie fame but unlike Rudy, he tried out for the football team but did not make it) where he majored in Finance graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (from the Mendoza College of Business which recently has been rated the best undergraduate business school in the US). He is currently enrolled in American Military University where he is pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration.
Shortly after graduating from college, Elton Johnson, Jr., enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He served in the 4th Marine Division for two years as an artilleryman before he obtained a conditional release and a lateral transfer to the U.S. Army in order to volunteer for U.S. Army Special Forces training (“Green Berets”). He served in the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) and the 12th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he was trained as a Communications Specialist and cross-trained as a Heavy Weapons Specialist. In 1985, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Armor Branch. He is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Infantry Branch. Since 9/11, he has served two tours of duty in Iraq and one tour of duty in Afghanistan. His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. He is a disabled U.S. veteran and an advocate for veterans’ rights. In 2010, he was the motivating force behind the passage of a California law that assists California citizen-soldiers in maintaining their businesses while deployed on active military duty (This law has become known as “Major Johnson’s law”).
In addition to being a licensed stockbroker, Elton Johnson, Jr. is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker and a licensed California Private Investigator. He is the first and only person in the U.S. to have licenses registered with the FINRA (securities), the NFA (commodities) and the NMLS (mortgage loans). He is an experienced entrepreneur and holds the coveted designation of Certified Independent Entrepreneur (CIE, www.acie.biz). He is an Amateur Radio Operator and has held a FCC General Class license since the age of 15. He is also an avid bodybuilder, competing in amateur US military bodybuilding contests. He won the Mr. SOCCENT (CFSOCC) 2010 contest and he has plans to continue competing until his retirement.
