On Sunday, March 9, the world celebrated International Women’s Day and it had a very special meaning for one of our veteran employees. 

Mercedes Elias, AmeriVet’s Head of Veteran Engagement, was recently selected from over 500 applicants to participate in the inaugural cohort for The Mission Continues Women Veterans Leadership Program, consisting of a five month long curriculum that uniquely supports women veterans.

Training kicked off the first week of March and Mercedes spent International Women’s Day changing the narrative on what it means for women to step up and lead, while making valuable connections with other women veterans in our community.
