A very busy week ahead highlighted by multiple central bank decisions and global data. To date, the data in the United States has held up on a relative basis when looking at other economies. We expect Chair Powell to maintain optionality despite the decline with inflation and remain advocates of the “higher for longer” theme for the remainder of 2023. Of late, plenty of questions around the Fed’s commitment to a 2% inflation target, a soft landing, and continued inverted yield curve.
