On May 19, 2022, Veteran Engagement Associate, Sidney Covington participated on the Mental Health in the Margins: Understanding the Unique needs of Minority Women Veterans discussion panel. During this panel event, Ms. Covington and her fellow women veteran panelists discussed the challenges of receiving mental health and shared resources that are available to women veterans of color.

The New York State Division of Veterans’ Services and Minority Veterans of America co-hosted this important discussion about the experiences and mental health needs of women veterans who have minority identities. This all-veteran program was moderated by Lucy Del Gaudio, Special Projects Manager for Minority Veterans of America. Sidney was flanked by panelists Maria Salazar, Susan Sobrepena, Ashley Carothers, and Jen Hogg.
