Jay Zhang is a first generation American, born to Chinese immigrant parents in New York City. He is a disabled U.S. Marine Corps veteran and is the first member of his family to join the military.

During his military service, Mr. Zhang was stationed at Camp Fuji, Japan, serving as a Military Police Officer and Administrator. When he returned to the states, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, serving as the Legal Chief for 1st Battalion, 10th Marines.

Mr. Zhang has been recognized by his superior officers, including the Commanding General, for his support in foreign relations while stationed in Japan. In addition, he was recognized by 2d Marine Division Legal Services for improving systems and processes during the Commanding General Readiness Inspection.

After four years of honorable service in the military, Mr. Zhang obtained an associate degree in business administration, while working for J.P. Morgan Chase as a retail Associate Banker in Downtown Flushing, New York.

He is currently a junior in Baruch College, majoring in finance and minoring in economics. Mr. Zhang also serves as the Leader of the Baruch Student Veterans of America Chapter, which provides resources for veterans, including but not limited to supporting transitioning veterans as they leave the military and adjust to life as a student.
