Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) strives to unite and strengthen communities by training, developing, and supporting the role models that lead them. TMF creates training programs and leadership development opportunities designed to empower veterans and families of the fallen, and then inspire them to pass on their values to the next generation and the community-at-large. These mentors, role models, and leaders are known as TMF Spartans and are volunteering in a community near you.  

On March 12th, 2022, TMF Spartans from all over the Northeast region, including Boston and New York City, converged in Philadelphia, PA for the Travis Manion Foundation – 5th Annual Northeast Regional Summit. Members of the Northeast region, including AmeriVet Public Finance Associate James Fitzgerald, came together to learn from TMF staff and from each other. Each Spartan was able to leave the Summit with a deeper sense of enthusiasm and broader network to utilize.  

Special guests for the Summit included U.S. Army veteran and Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with Sanofi America, Subarna Malakar, who shared his experience on how we can embrace and leverage diversity within our community. Additionally, Sean Casey, Senior Director of Communications – Military & Veteran Affairs with Comcast NBC Universal, provided his insights into how hiring veterans is a net gain for companies and why veterans are a great resource in any company.
