As part of our Vets on Deck event series, we hosted veterans to discuss tech opportunities in finance. Veterans were able to speak with staff from NPower and Workforce Opportunity Services about certifications and job placement, as well as hear a panel moderated by Managing Director Patrick Perdue with Eric Peltzer, U.S. Army veteran and Chief of Staff of Technology for Royal Bank of Canada and Bernard Powers, Senior Team Lead for Core Platforms, Global Markets Technology for Bank of America. The panelists spoke about tech trends in finance over the last 20 years, best careers within technology to pursue along with what would help best prepare veterans for careers in fintech. Their experience and insight was invaluable.
